Eiko Yamazawa

was a renowned Japanese photographer.
She studied nihonga at Private Women's School of Fine Arts.〔(展覧会概要_2008年度女子美術大学同窓会企画展「PHOTO+GRAPH展-光の描画-」 )〕 She studied oil painting at California School of Fine Arts〔(Yamazawa Eiko 山沢 栄子(PhotoGuide Japan) )〕 where she worked with Consuelo Kanaga.〔Mariko Takeuchi, "Eiko Yamazawa", ''The Oxford Companion to the Photograph'' (Oxford University Press), reproduced (Eiko Yamazawa here ) in Answers.com.〕 In 1931 she opened a portrait studio in Osaka.〔 In 1950 she established the Yamazawa Institute of Photography in Osaka.〔 In 1960 she moved to abstraction.〔
